Commercial Lending Assistant

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Support Commercial Real Estate lenders with loan originations, renewals, modifications, and extensions.
  • Prepare and assemble loan packages for underwriting, approval, and closing.
  • Coordinate and track third-party reports including appraisals, environmental reports, surveys, title work, and zoning reports.
  • Review loan documentation for completeness and accuracy prior to submission and closing.
  • Communicate with attorneys, title companies, vendors, borrowers, and internal departments to ensure timely loan closings.
  • Gather and organize borrower financial information including tax returns, rent rolls, operating statements, and financial statements.
  • Maintain accurate loan and borrower data within internal systems.
  • Assist with underwriting support, covenant tracking, financial spreads, and post-closing requirements.
  • Monitor loan maturities, insurance coverage, escrow items, and reporting requirements.
  • Maintain organized electronic and physical loan files while ensuring compliance with internal policies and procedures.
  • Respond to borrower and internal inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Provide administrative support to the CRE lending team as needed.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Real Estate, or related field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in commercial lending support, loan administration, or credit support preferred.
  • Knowledge of commercial real estate loan structures including term loans, construction loans, and lines of credit.
  • Understanding of CRE concepts such as LTV, DSCR, NOI, and cap rates preferred.
  • Experience working with appraisals, title documentation, environmental reports, and loan closing processes preferred.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities with attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented banking environment.
  • High level of professionalism, confidentiality, and follow-through.
