Business Relationship Manager

Job Summary

This role is responsible for developing and managing a portfolio of small to mid-sized business relationships, generating commercial loans and deposits, and delivering treasury management and wealth management referrals.


The ideal candidate will bring a strong blend of Commercial & Industrial (C&I) lending and Commercial Real Estate (CRE) experience, with a particular emphasis on C&I lending. Candidates must possess formal credit training, strong business development capabilities, and an established network within the South Florida market, specifically Doral, Medley, Hialeah, Airport West, and Airport East. This position offers the opportunity to join a growing lending platform focused on increasing commercial business lending and reducing reliance on real estate concentrations.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage a portfolio of small and middle-market business banking relationships
  • Generate new commercial loan opportunities with a focus on C&I lending
  • Maintain and expand relationships with business owners, investors, and commercial clients
  • Structure and negotiate commercial loan transactions, including C&I, owner-occupied real estate, investment real estate, and SBA loans
  • Prepare and present credit opportunities for approval through established lending channels
  • Perform portfolio management activities, including annual reviews, covenant monitoring, and relationship maintenance
  • Drive deposit growth through operating accounts, DDA relationships, and treasury management solutions
  • Identify opportunities to generate fee income through treasury management, wealth management referrals, SBA lending, and interest rate swap programs
  • Partner with Portfolio Managers, Credit Officers, and Lending Assistants to ensure efficient loan execution and client service
  • Maintain a strong understanding of credit quality, underwriting standards, and risk management practices
  • Develop referral sources and Centers of Influence (COIs) throughout the South Florida business community
  • Represent the bank at networking events, industry functions, and community organizations
  • Meet or exceed annual production, deposit, and relationship growth goals

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum 5–8 years of commercial banking relationship management experience
  • Formal commercial credit training required
  • Strong experience with commercial loan structuring and portfolio management
  • Proven success developing and managing C&I lending relationships
  • Experience working with small to medium-sized businesses and commercial investors
  • Existing book of business and established South Florida market relationships strongly preferred
  • Strong understanding of financial statement analysis, cash flow analysis, and credit structuring
  • Experience generating deposits, treasury management revenue, and fee income
  • Knowledge of SBA lending programs preferred
  • Excellent business development, relationship management, and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating with credit and operations teams
  • Strong knowledge of the Doral, Medley, Hialeah, Airport West, Airport East, and broader Miami-Dade markets
