Accounting Specialist

Review, verify, and process vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy in coding and obtaining necessary approvals.
Process expense reports in a timely manner.
Schedule and prepare payments via checks, ACH, or wire transfers, ensuring timely completion within agreed terms.
Maintain organized, accurate records of all accounts payable transactions.
Assist with the preparation of monthly accruals.
Ensure all accounts payable processes adhere to internal control policies and financial regulations.
Process General Ledger entries and ensure proper approval.
Review, investigate, and repost any unposted daily transactions.
Assist in the preparation and processing of prepaid accounts.

Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting preferred.
Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience in accounts payable or a related field.
Experience with automated AP systems and process improvement initiatives.
Knowledge of accounting policies and banking software (Prologue, AS400, etc.).
Familiarity with tax regulations related to vendor payments.
Proficient in Microsoft Office tools and other financial/accounting software.
Strong knowledge of spreadsheets, databases, and word processing.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively at all levels within the organization.
Ability to use office equipment such as calculators, fax machines, and copiers.
High attention to detail with a strong focus on accuracy.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workloads.
Proactive in problem-solving and resolving issues independently.
Strong interpersonal skills, with a professional demeanor and the ability to interact effectively across all organizational levels.
