Middle Market Banker

Job Summary

 This role is focused on business development, relationship management, deposit growth, and commercial lending. The ideal candidate will bring an established book of business, strong credit acumen, and a proven ability to generate both loan and deposit opportunities while serving as a trusted advisor to business owners and commercial clients.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage a portfolio of middle-market commercial banking relationships. 
  • Generate new business through prospecting, networking, referrals, and Centers of Influence (COIs). 
  • Maintain a strong focus on deposit gathering and treasury management opportunities in addition to commercial lending. 
  • Analyze client financial statements, cash flow, collateral, and credit structures to identify lending opportunities. 
  • Structure and present commercial loan requests for approval. 
  • Conduct regular client and prospect meetings to deepen relationships and uncover additional banking needs. 
  • Monitor portfolio performance, including credit quality, overdrafts, renewals, and non-performing relationships. 
  • Partner with credit, treasury management, and other internal teams to deliver comprehensive banking solutions. 
  • Prepare call reports, relationship reviews, and credit presentations. 
  • Maintain compliance with all banking regulations, policies, and procedures.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field preferred. 
  • Minimum 7 years of commercial banking, commercial lending, or relationship management experience. 
  • Proven business development track record with an existing commercial client portfolio and transportable book of business. 
  • Strong commercial credit and financial analysis skills. 
  • Experience managing middle-market business relationships. 
  • Knowledge of commercial loan structures, treasury management, and deposit products. 
  • Strong sales, negotiation, and relationship-building skills. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. 
  • Knowledge of South Florida commercial banking market preferred. 
  • Formal credit training strongly preferred.
