Job Summary

The Senior Commercial Portfolio Manager II supports the Commercial Banking business line by partnering closely with Relationship Managers to structure, screen, and manage commercial and CRE relationships. This role reflects a strategic separation of portfolio management from underwriting, allowing the Senior PM to focus on front-end financial analysis, deal structuring, and ongoing portfolio oversight. The position is aligned with the business side of the bank and plays a critical role in ensuring credit opportunities are well-vetted and properly structured before advancing to underwriting.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Partner with Relationship Managers to structure commercial and CRE transactions
Perform first-look financial analysis and deal screening prior to underwriting
Review borrower financial statements and assess overall credit merit
Prepare structured deal summaries and screening presentations
Conduct annual review first looks and ongoing financial reviews
Provide portfolio oversight with a focus on credit quality and risk identification
Ensure opportunities meet internal PM standards before advancing in the credit process
Maintain organized, disciplined, and consistent work product aligned with PM expectations

Minimum Requirements:

Extensive experience in commercial banking, portfolio management, or credit
Strong knowledge of commercial and CRE credit analysis and deal structuring
Prior experience as a Portfolio Manager, Senior Credit Analyst, or similar role
Ability to work closely with Relationship Managers in a business-facing role
Highly organized with strong analytical and risk assessment skills
Professional demeanor with strong judgment and communication skills
Local market experience
