VP Business Analyst

Job Summary

The VP Business Analyst serves as a strategic advisor and key partner to the CEO, acting in a Chief of Staff capacity to connect executive priorities with business execution. This high-visibility role supports enterprise-wide strategy, business transformation, financial analysis, and operational improvement within an international banking environment.


The VP Business Analyst works across Finance, Operations, Technology, Data, Wealth Management, and other business areas to evaluate performance, identify opportunities for growth and efficiency, and develop data-driven recommendations for senior leadership. The role requires a strong understanding of international and cross-border banking, wealth management, financial products, and the operational processes that support high-net-worth clients.


This position will lead and facilitate strategic projects, analyze business and financial performance, develop executive reporting, evaluate market and competitive trends, and support the implementation of initiatives that improve profitability, efficiency, risk management, and the overall client experience.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a strategic liaison between the CEO, senior leadership, Head Office, and cross-functional business units, ensuring executive priorities are translated into clear objectives and actionable initiatives.
  • Support the development and execution of strategic plans, business initiatives, and enterprise-wide transformation projects.
  • Analyze financial performance, budgets, forecasts, portfolio trends, and key business metrics to provide actionable insights and recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Develop and monitor key performance indicators, scorecards, and management reporting used to evaluate organizational and departmental performance.
  • Partner with Finance, Data Governance, MIS, Technology, and business leaders to ensure data accuracy, reporting integrity, and effective use of business intelligence.
  • Prepare executive-level presentations, reports, analyses, and recommendations for the CEO, senior management, Head Office, regulatory audiences, and other stakeholders.
  • Conduct detailed analysis of international banking, cross-border lending, wealth management, client portfolios, and other complex financial activities to support executive decision-making.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, reduce operational inefficiencies, strengthen controls, and enhance productivity across the organization.
  • Lead or facilitate strategic projects from planning through implementation, coordinating stakeholders, monitoring progress, and evaluating results.
  • Evaluate cross-border banking processes, products, and client coverage models to identify opportunities for improved efficiency, service, and profitability.
  • Analyze wealth management products and services, including investment products, portfolio management, advisory services, and digital capabilities, to support strategic business decisions.
  • Evaluate the end-to-end client experience and identify opportunities to improve processes across digital, operational, and client-facing channels.
  • Monitor client experience metrics and feedback to identify trends, service gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify emerging trends, technologies, products, and opportunities within international banking and wealth management.
  • Develop financial and business models, conduct scenario analysis, and translate complex data into clear recommendations for senior leadership.
  • Work closely with department heads to identify business challenges, develop solutions, and support implementation of approved initiatives.
  • Provide timely analysis and reporting on urgent or complex business matters as requested by the CEO.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of applicable regulatory, operational, and market considerations affecting international and cross-border banking.
  • Communicate complex financial, operational, and strategic information clearly to executive leadership and other stakeholders.
  • Travel and work outside of standard business hours, including evenings, weekends, or holidays, as business needs require.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience within international banking, private banking, wealth management, global financial services, or a related financial institution.
  • Strong understanding of international and cross-border banking, including client coverage, lending, deposits, foreign exchange, wealth management, and related financial services.
  • Demonstrated understanding of wealth management products and services, including equities, fixed income, alternative investments, structured products, portfolio management, and advisory services.
  • Strong financial analysis and business analytics capabilities, with the ability to evaluate financial results, identify trends, and develop actionable recommendations.
  • Experience leading strategic initiatives, business transformation projects, process improvement efforts, or enterprise-wide initiatives.
  • Strong ability to translate complex financial, operational, and technical information into clear business solutions and executive recommendations.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint, with strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Google Workspace, and business intelligence or banking applications.
  • Exceptional executive presentation and communication skills, with the ability to present complex financial and strategic information to senior leadership and large groups.
  • Strong project management, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Spanish.
  • Ability to work effectively across multiple departments and levels of an organization while managing confidential and highly sensitive information.
