Private Banker

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced VP Private Client Group Banker to acquire, manage, and grow relationships with High Net Worth and Ultra High Net Worth clients. This individual will act as a trusted advisor, providing comprehensive solutions across private banking, investments, wealth planning, and lending.


The ideal candidate is a proven relationship manager and business developer with an established HNW/UHNW network, strong investment knowledge, and experience structuring complex credit solutions. This role requires someone who can both bring in new client relationships and deepen existing ones, while delivering a highly personalized, first-class client experience.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and acquire new HNW and UHNW client relationships through personal networks, referrals, centers of influence, and direct business development. 
  • Grow assets, deposits, lending relationships, and overall revenue within an assigned book of business. 
  • Serve as the primary relationship manager and trusted advisor for sophisticated private banking clients. 
  • Advise clients on their overall financial position, including: 
  • Investment management 
  • Asset allocation 
  • Wealth planning 
  • Liquidity needs 
  • Deposits and banking services 
  • Credit and lending solutions 
  • Manage the complete client acquisition process from prospecting through account opening and funding. 
  • Maintain and manage investment and non-investment pipelines. 
  • Conduct periodic client reviews, portfolio reviews, presentations, and relationship strategy meetings. 
  • Build long-term relationships with clients and their families across generations. 
  • Partner with internal investment, credit, operations, and product specialists to deliver customized financial solutions. 
  • Provide investment guidance based on client objectives, risk tolerance, liquidity needs, and investment horizon. 
  • Present complex investment and financial concepts clearly to clients. 
  • Identify and structure lending opportunities, including: 
  • Securities-backed and collateralized loans 
  • Term loans 
  • Residential real estate financing 
  • Commercial real estate financing 
  • Analyze client financial information and creditworthiness. 
  • Prepare and support complex credit proposals for local and Head Office approval. 
  • Evaluate collateral, repayment sources, transaction structure, and overall credit risk. 
  • Maintain awareness of market conditions and identify opportunities to expand client relationships. 
  • Work closely with international clients and counterparties throughout Latin America and the United States. 
  • Maintain accurate client activity and pipeline information within CRM systems. 
  • Ensure client relationships comply with Bank policies, BSA/AML requirements, and applicable U.S. and international regulatory requirements. 
  • Participate in internal committees and approval processes as required. 
  • Travel and attend networking, client meetings, and business development events as necessary.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience across private banking, wealth management, investments, and/or lending. 
  • Proven experience managing relationships with HNW and UHNW clients. 
  • Demonstrated success personally acquiring new HNW/UHNW relationships and assets. 
  • Strong business development skills and an established network of affluent clients and referral sources preferred. 
  • Strong knowledge of investment products, portfolio management, asset allocation, and wealth planning. 
  • Experience advising clients on both investment and credit solutions. 
  • Strong lending background with experience in securities-based lending, residential real estate, commercial real estate, and other customized credit solutions. 
  • Ability to analyze financial statements and prepare sophisticated credit recommendations. 
  • Experience managing complex client relationships across multiple financial products. 
  • International and Latin American client experience strongly preferred. 
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required. 
  • Bachelor's degree required. 
  • MBA, JD, CFA, or CFP preferred. 
  • Active FINRA SIE, Series 7, and Series 66 licenses required, or Series 63 and Series 65 in place of Series 66. 
  • Strong communication, presentation, relationship-management, and negotiation skills. 
  • Goal-oriented, entrepreneurial, polished, and highly client-focused. 
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating effectively with internal specialists and senior management.
