Assistant Branch Manager

Job Summary

The Assistant Branch Manager supports the Operations Coordinator in all aspects of branch operations and reports directly to the Business Banking Manager. The Assistant Branch Manager ensures operational excellence, compliance with regulatory requirements, and fosters a culture of high performance, collaboration, and accountability. This role is responsible for leading the branch team to deliver exceptional customer service, managing client relationships, and driving business development and sales growth. This position also acts as a key relationship administrator, actively engaging with clients and identifying opportunities for expanding banking services.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead core accounting functions such as general ledger, financial reporting, budgeting, accounts payable/receivable, and reconciliations
  • Prepare financial statements, regulatory filings, and internal reports in compliance with GAAP
  • Reconcile bank accounts and key balance sheet items and resolve discrepancies
  • Coordinate with departments for expense tracking, fixed asset accounting, and cash flow forecasting
  • Assist in developing and monitoring budgets
  • Support external audits and regulatory exams
  • Stay current on financial regulations and internal accounting policies
  • Recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy
  • Support compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and applicable regulations
  • Provide administrative support as needed

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • CPA, CMA, or MBA strongly preferred
  • At least 5 years of accounting experience, including 2 years in a banking or credit union setting
  • Must be bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and regulatory reporting requirements
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems
  • Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • High level of integrity and confidentiality
  • Willingness to travel occasionally for training or business needs
