Assistant Branch Manager

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Branch Manager in the daily administration and operation of a full-service branch. 
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and supervision to branch staff while fostering a positive team environment. 
  • Oversee branch operations, customer service, security, and compliance functions. 
  • Support customer retention efforts and deepen existing client relationships. 
  • Resolve complex customer inquiries, issues, and escalations. 
  • Review branch operational reports, NSF and overdraft exceptions, and ensure proper follow-up. 
  • Assist with branch audits, internal controls, quality assurance reviews, and regulatory compliance. 
  • Monitor adherence to bank policies, procedures, and federal and state banking regulations. 
  • Support consumer and business lending activities, including reviewing loan requests and assisting customers with banking solutions. 
  • Cross-sell and promote bank products and services to meet customer needs and branch objectives. 
  • Assist with employee scheduling, performance management, training, and professional development. 
  • Participate in hiring, interviewing, and onboarding branch personnel. 
  • Ensure branch security procedures and risk management practices are followed. 
  • Prepare reports, special projects, and operational analysis for management as needed.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or a related field preferred; equivalent banking experience considered. 
  • Minimum 3-5 years of community banking experience. 
  • Minimum 1-2 years of branch leadership, supervisory, or management experience. 
  • Strong knowledge of branch operations, deposit products, consumer banking, and customer service. 
  • Experience supporting lending activities and understanding of lending terminology and credit fundamentals. 
  • Working knowledge of banking regulations, compliance requirements, and operational controls. 
  • Proven ability to supervise, coach, and develop employees. 
  • Experience reviewing financial statements and customer financial information preferred. 
  • Strong sales, relationship management, and cross-selling abilities. 
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. 
  • Proficiency with banking systems and Microsoft Office applications. 
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation if business travel is required.
