Corporate Relationship Manager

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Corporate Relationship Manager to develop, manage, and grow a portfolio of corporate and middle-market banking relationships. This individual will be responsible for increasing share of wallet, loan and deposit relationships, product penetration, and overall bank revenue while delivering tailored financial solutions to commercial clients.


The ideal candidate is a proven corporate or middle-market banker with strong business development, commercial lending, and credit experience. This role requires someone who can independently develop new relationships while managing and expanding existing diversified lending relationships.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and expand Corporate and Middle Market banking relationships.
  • Identify new business opportunities through prospecting, referrals, networking, telephone outreach, client meetings, and community involvement.
  • Increase share of wallet and product penetration across existing relationships.
  • Cross-sell commercial banking products and services to increase deposits, loans, fee income, and overall relationship profitability.
  • Develop new loan and deposit relationships within the assigned market.
  • Manage a diversified commercial lending portfolio while maintaining strong credit quality.
  • Build trusted relationships with business owners, executives, and other key decision-makers.
  • Analyze customer financial statements, tax returns, cash flow, credit history, collateral, and account activity.
  • Structure and recommend appropriate commercial credit solutions, including:
  • Lines of credit
  • Owner-occupied real estate
  • Term loans
  • Other commercial lending products
  • Prepare and present commercial credit requests to Loan Committee when required.
  • Approve loans and other banking transactions within established lending authority.
  • Monitor existing credit relationships and identify changes in financial condition, risk, or performance.
  • Review loan documentation and ensure transactions comply with Bank credit policies and procedures.
  • Manage overdraft and uncollected funds exposure within established approval limits.
  • Partner with Credit, Treasury Management, Operations, and other Bank departments to deliver comprehensive financial solutions.
  • Monitor account activity and identify potential BSA/AML, compliance, operational, or financial risks.
  • Ensure customer relationships remain within established risk parameters and Bank policies.
  • Represent the Bank at business chambers, community organizations, economic development activities, and networking events.
  • Maintain accurate customer and pipeline information and meet established production goals.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • 7+ years of Corporate, Middle Market, or Commercial Banking experience required.
  • Proven experience in business development and managing diversified commercial lending relationships.
  • Strong track record of new business development and sales production.
  • Proven commercial lending and credit experience.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial credit and underwriting.
  • Experience analyzing financial statements, cash flow, and other borrower financial information.
  • Experience reviewing commercial loan documentation and loan administration.
  • Experience presenting commercial credit transactions to Loan Committee.
  • Formal commercial credit training strongly preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial banking products, including lending, deposits, and treasury/cash management solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to increase share of wallet and product penetration.
  • Strong local market and community relationships preferred.
  • Knowledge of BSA/AML and other applicable banking regulations.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, negotiation, and relationship-management skills.
