Relationship Banker

Job Summary

The Relationship Banker is responsible for developing and managing client relationships while promoting the bank’s products and services. This role is approximately 75% sales-focused and 25% administrative, requiring strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to business development. The Relationship Banker also supports basic transaction processing and compliance activities, contributing to branch growth and customer satisfaction. Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is required to serve a diverse customer base.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain a personal book of business, building long-term client relationships.
  • Conduct daily outbound calls and participate in business development activities to attract new clients.
  • Promote and cross-sell the bank’s full suite of financial products and “sticky” services.
  • Participate in community and networking events to expand business opportunities.
  • Ensure monthly, quarterly, and annual sales goals are met through consistent prospecting and client engagement.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to resolve client issues quickly and effectively.
  • Receive and process loan payments (mortgage, consumer, and other types) by coordinating with the teller line.
  • Assist with vault access and basic cash handling when needed.
  • Provide backup support to BSA-related activities, including RFIs, High KYC, and ECS documentation.
  • Attend all required training sessions and bank-sponsored events.
  • Minimize operational exceptions through attention to detail and process adherence.
  • Maintain accurate records and assist in administrative tasks related to sales, services, and compliance.
  • Willingness to obtain relevant licenses to support sales of investment or insurance products.

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Completion of in-house or approved external training programs preferred.
  • Previous experience in banking, customer service, or sales is highly desirable.
  • Must be fluent in English and Spanish.
  • Able to effectively communicate with customers, colleagues, and management in both languages.
  • Capable of reading and interpreting written materials, memos, and instructions in English and Spanish.
