CORPORATE Banker & SYNDICATED LOANS SVP

JOB SUMMARY

Responsible for generating business and onboarding all facilities related to Corporate Banking, including Syndicated Loans and Bilateral Loans. This includes the creation, modification, and review of Policies and Procedures. The role involves monitoring and discussing credit proposals with Analysts and the Credit team, collaborating to build a fully functional department, and ensuring the delivery of superior service while adhering to corporate, regulatory, and audit guidelines. The position also requires ensuring timely and efficient completion of client requests and transactions, while actively expanding the Bank’s Business Network for ICB. Acting as a role model and service leader, this individual proactively engages with Portfolio Management, Credit, and Risk Departments, assisting in the approval process, closing, and funding, and demonstrating strong problem-solving capabilities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage the entire loan syndication process from inception to closing, in primary and secondary markets 
  • Analyze market conditions and determine appropriate loan structures 
  • Develop and maintain relationships with potential syndicate members 
  • Negotiate terms and conditions with sellers 
  • Prepare and present credit proposals to internal committees 
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies 
  • Monitor and report on syndicated loan portfolio performance 
  • Provide market insights and recommendations to senior management 
  • Collaborate with legal, risk management, and other internal departments 
  • Represents the bank in the community through good customer relations and business organizations. 
  • Actively participates in local community organizations and networking events. 
  • Participates in all scheduled trainings and events that are required by the bank.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, or related field 
  • 5 years of experience in loan syndication, corporate banking or related banking roles 
  • Strong understanding of credit analysis and financial modeling 
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills 
  • Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Office suite 
  • Bilingual English and Spanish 
  • Ability to respond to complex inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or member of the business community. 
  • Ability to relate well with others and quickly creating a working team environment.   
  • Ability to effectively present information to the Bank’s Committees, Senior Management, public groups, and/or Board of Directors. 
  • Excellent presentation skills and public speaking ability.
