Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Independently analyze commercial real estate, commercial loans, residential loans, consumer loans in accordance with established credit and loan policy.
Underwrite loan requests in accordance with established policies.
Generate in depth analysis and comprehensive financial write-up to analyze borrower’s financial statements, cash flows, forecasts, collateral and other data and prepare credit write-ups for the Loan Committee report on the quality of proposed loans.
Establish, develop, maintain, and expand a formal Credit Department within the Loan Department including:
Manage, direct and develop department staff.
Actively participating in internal loan review and audit examinations and contribute to effective communications among examiners, management, and other staff areas.
Provide credit related training to lending staff.
Recommend possible methods to improve the Credit Department effectiveness.
Participate in Loan Department, Officers, Pipeline and Classified Asset meetings as an advocate for credit quality. Report to the Board on Criticized Assets, OREO, and charged-off loans under stipulation.
Identify risk asset concentrations, deterioration in underwriting standards or market condition and/or weaknesses that require corrective action.
Prepare loan impairment worksheets
Work proactively in a collaborative effort with lenders with respect to early evaluation of transactions; e.g. risk assessment, structure and covenants, risk rating, compliance with policies, underwriting guidelines and regulations.
Generate loan quality reports as necessary.
Effectively communicate and support independent credit viewpoints to lenders and senior management on individual credits.
Perform real estate appraisal reviews.
Perform environmental reviews.
Manage the annual review process through own activities and outsourcing of reviews to ensure that all annual reviews are performed in a timely manner and results are communicated to the loan officer, the Chief Lending Officer, and the Board.
Serve as liaison with third-party vendors performing real estate appraisal and annual loan reviews.
Monitor loans coming up for renewal, and requirements for financial statements to ensure that the renewal is processed on a timely basis.
Perform portfolio level stress testing of the loan portfolio exposure to quantify the impact of changing economic scenarios on asset quality, earnings, and capital.
Prepare impairment worksheets for criticized assets.
Administer the CECL Methodology including quarterly updates to the economic and market factors.
Deliver all analysis within the assigned time period to ensure a quick response to the borrower.
Spread financial statements of corporate borrowers and guarantors.
Spread personal financial statements and tax returns.
Work with lenders to create and maintain a mutually agreeable review process that provides a positive customer experience.
Pursue matters relating to criticized assets and OREO properties.
Special asset workout resolution involving stipulations, settlements, foreclosures, legal action etc.
Provide general assistance to SVP and Chief Lending Officer, including:
Matters concerning credit strategy and loan policy.
Maintaining loan grading integrity.
Performing collateral evaluations.
Performing site visitations.
May perform other duties and responsibilities as needed and requested by Bank management.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance or related field or MBA in Accounting/Finance or equivalent work experience.
Minimum five years of experience managing a Credit Analysis Department.
Strong analytical skills and experience in analyzing commercial real estate loans including owner occupied, income producing and special purpose properties, commercial loans, and consumer loans. Understanding of security arrangements and collateralization of loans.
Strong analytical skills in analyzing corporate and personal financial statements, along with credit write-ups using standardized credit analysis templates.
Ability to meet tight deadlines and multi-task.
Ability to spread corporate and personal financial statements and tax returns in US dollars and local currency of borrowers, if applicable.
Ability to understand and analyze appraisals.
Ability to interpret credit reports.
Must be able to work independently and with minimum supervision.
Experience in working with and developing templates for improving turnaround time.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and analytical skills.
Knowledge of financial services and regulatory compliance: Know Your Customer, Customer Identification Program, BSA/Anti-money Laundering, and OFAC.
Demonstrated ability to deliver excellent client service and provide team support.
Excellent follow-up skills.
Proficient in use of the Internet.
Proficient in Microsoft programs: Outlook, Excel and Word
Proficient in banking software: BancPac, Vision, iDoc, and iCheck
Proficient in the use of analysis software for spreading corporate financial statements, personal financial statements, and corporate/personal tax returns.
